In 1975 the decision was taken to buy a licence for the IRb-6 and IRb-60 robots from ASEA. In Poland they were to be designated IRp-6 and IRp-60. This work was carried out by the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (then MERA-PIAP). The robots designed in Sweden were among the most advanced in the world at the time. They were the first with microprocessor control based on INTEL controllers and with electric drives. | |
